Hello Readers!- My name is Kelsey, I’m 20 years old, I am a Pre-med student in hopes of becoming a doctor to the nations in more way than one. I love Jesus and the Word of God which this blog is completely devoted to. My hope is that I never find scripture to fit my ideas, but rather I let scripture form my ideas. I pray that the Holy Spirit speaks through every line that I write and that it will stir your hearts and minds as you read it. I also hope that these posts encourage you to study the Word for yourself with more zeal and purpose. John 1:1.

Just some extra info about me- I have been a Christian nearly all my life and cannot remember a time when Jesus was not the center of my existence. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school, though that I felt the Lord calling me to missions. One day I was listening to a Francis Chan sermon while I was cleaning my room (more like half-listening) when I felt the Lord speak to my spirit. “Who are you REALLY living your life for?” Up until that point my future was planned around one thing-money. It isn’t as it seems though. I had good intentions (as we all do). My family has struggled for as long as I can remember with finances. I wanted to free my parents from their debts and give them the life I thought they deserved (I have the most AMAZING parents). I wanted to be their savior and it wasn’t my place. I never even considered the kind of future God wanted for me because I wanted to be in control of my life. When I heard his voice speaking to me I felt the weight of shame and guilt hit me hard. All this time I had been masquerading as one completely sold out to Christ yet I had withheld my entire future from Him. I hit my knees in the middle of my bedroom floor and sobbed for what seemed like forever.

Then a light bulb clicked on somewhere and a thought I had never entertained before seemed suddenly to be the only way to live completely sold out to Christ.

Missions.

Since then,  I have been to Cambodia twice with an organization called Overland Missions. It is an amazing organization that places the gospel of Jesus at the forefront of everything they do and its an organization I hope to work for someday (ya know, after seven years of college and all that). I am currently fundraising for a mission trip to Myanmar in May of 2017. If you would like to help me further the gospel by donating to my trip you can click the link below to give online. Just be sure to put my name, “Kelsey Acree” on the memo line. God Bless!
